Hyster forklifts are made by the Hyster Company, which was founded in Oregon in 1929 under the name Willamette-Ersted Company.  They have been known as the Hyster company since 1934.  The name Hyster originates from an expression that loggers would yell when the lumber was ready to be transported: “Hoist’er!”
